Tiny Details You’ll Never Want to Forget

Tiny fingers.

Tiny toes.

Sleepy stretches.

That little yawn you never want to forget.

The newborn stage is one of the shortest seasons of parenthood, and somehow it passes even faster than we expect.

My newborn sessions are designed to be calm, relaxed, and baby-led, giving your family time to slow down and soak in these first precious weeks together.

Before you know it, those tiny newborn features will become toddler giggles, first birthdays, and school pictures.

Let’s preserve this chapter while it’s still here.

✨ I’d be honored to help document your growing family’s newest love story.

Birthday Memories Don’t End When the Party Does

Birthdays come and go so quickly.

The decorations come down.
The cake gets eaten.
The balloons eventually deflate.

But the memories don’t have to.

That’s why I love combining birthday portraits with celebration photography.

Dedicated portraits allow your child—or you!—to truly shine without the distractions of the party, while event coverage captures the hugs, laughter, happy tears, and little moments you may miss while hosting.

Together, they tell the complete story of your celebration.

✨ Whether you’re celebrating a first birthday, Sweet 16, 30th, 50th, or anything in between, I’d love to help document every chapter of your special day.

When Was the Last Time Everyone Was Together?

Life gets busy.

Kids grow up. Families spread across different cities. Calendars fill up.

Before you know it, it’s been years since everyone was in the same place at the same time.

That’s why extended family sessions are some of my favorite sessions to photograph.

They’re filled with grandparents, cousins, laughter, hugs, and the kind of moments that become priceless as the years go by.

Whether you’re planning a family reunion, celebrating a milestone birthday, or simply taking advantage of everyone being home for the weekend, there’s no better time to create portraits that your family will cherish.

✨ Thinking about getting everyone together? Let’s start planning your Family Legacy session today.

The women who hold families together deserve to be in the photos too.

So often, Mom or Grandma is the one making the memories happen. She’s coordinating schedules, planning birthdays, organizing family reunions, and making sure everyone smiles for the camera—but somehow she’s missing from so many of the photos.

Those women deserve to be celebrated too.

My Family Legacy sessions are designed to capture the connection between generations, whether it’s grandparents with their grandchildren, siblings reunited, or simply updating portraits before another year slips by.

With styling guidance, a relaxed experience, and professional makeup available for select collections, my goal is to make the entire experience feel effortless so you can simply enjoy being together.

Because years from now, these won’t just be photographs—they’ll be part of your family’s story.

✨ Ready to preserve this season of life? I’d love to help create portraits your family will treasure for generations.

The Best Time During Pregnancy to Schedule Maternity Photos | Atlanta Maternity Photographer

Atlanta maternity photographer captures glowing mom at 32 weeks

Pregnancy is such a beautiful season of life — and maternity photos are the perfect way to celebrate your journey before your little one arrives. One of the most common questions I get as an Atlanta maternity photographer is: “When is the best time to schedule maternity photos?”

The answer depends on how you’d like to capture your glow and growing bump, but there’s a sweet spot that works best for most moms-to-be.

Why Timing Matters for Maternity Photos

Every pregnancy is different, but timing is key when planning your maternity session. You’ll want to be far enough along to really show off your baby bump — but not so late that you’re uncomfortable during the shoot.

The Ideal Window: 28–34 Weeks

Most moms find that between 28 and 34 weeks is the perfect time for maternity photos. By then, your belly is beautifully round and your energy is usually still strong enough to enjoy the session.

At this stage:
• Your bump is full and defined
• You still feel comfortable enough to move, pose, and walk around
• You’re less likely to be dealing with late-pregnancy swelling or fatigue

Early vs. Later Sessions: Pros & Cons
• Earlier (24–27 weeks): Great if you want a smaller bump or expect twins (since bumps grow faster).
• Later (35+ weeks): You’ll get those final days of pregnancy glow, but you may feel more tired and less mobile.

Don’t Forget to Book Early

Maternity sessions fill up quickly — most moms reach out during their second trimester to reserve a spot. That way, we can plan outfits, locations, and make sure you’re photographed at just the right time.

Celebrate Your Glow, Your Way

Whether you want a glamorous studio look, a romantic outdoor session, or a cozy in-home lifestyle shoot, maternity photography is all about capturing your unique story. This is your season to shine.

When Should You Book Newborn Photos? | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Bringing a new baby into the world is one of life’s greatest joys, and many parents wonder: When is the best time to schedule newborn photos?

As an Atlanta newborn photographer, I get this question all the time, and the answer depends on the look and feel you want for your session.

The Sweet Spot: 5–14 Days Old

The first two weeks after birth are ideal for those sleepy, curled-up poses everyone loves. Babies are still fresh from the womb, making it easier to capture those cozy, snuggly shots.

Beyond Two Weeks: Capturing Personality

If you miss that early window, don’t worry! Newborn photos are beautiful at every stage. At 3–6 weeks old, babies are more alert and may give you those first smiles, eye contact, and stretches.

What’s Best for You

Every family is unique. Some parents want those dreamy posed portraits in the first days, while others prefer lifestyle sessions at home once they’ve had time to settle in. Both are timeless and meaningful.

Tips for Booking Your Newborn Photos

• Book during your second trimester to secure your spot

• Plan for flexibility, since babies arrive on their own schedule

• Decide whether you want posed studio photos or a lifestyle session at home

What Age Should You Book Birthday Photos? | Atlanta Birthday Photographer

What Age Should You Book Birthday Photos? Spoiler: It’s Not Just 1!

Because Every Age Deserves to Be Remembered

We’ve all seen the classic cake smash for baby’s first birthday—adorable, chaotic, covered in frosting. But somewhere after that first birthday, it’s like we forget that life continues to be worth celebrating. Spoiler alert: birthday photos aren’t just for toddlers.

I’m here to say—with full confidence and maybe a little glitter—every age deserves a photoshoot.

Age 1: The Iconic Smash

Let’s start with the obvious: the first birthday. Cake smash? Check. Tiny crown? Check. A portrait of baby trying to eat the number “1” balloon? Absolutely.

📸 Why it matters:
This is the year you survived sleepless nights, growth spurts, and figuring out how to fold a stroller one-handed. It deserves a celebration.

Ages 2–5: Big Personalities, Bigger Expressions

Toddlers and preschoolers give us golden material—silly faces, twirls, superhero poses, maybe even a meltdown or two (it happens). These are the years their personality really shines.

📸 Why it matters:
They change so fast. Each birthday becomes a time capsule of who they are right now.

Ages 6–12: The “In-Between” Magic

This is where a lot of families start skipping birthday photos, thinking, “We’ll just wait for a big one.” But these are the golden years—before the braces, before they stop thinking you’re cool, before attitude enters the chat.

📸 Why it matters:
These years fly by quietly. Don’t miss the magic hiding in the in-between.

Teen Years: The Glow-Up Era

Whether it’s sweet sixteen, turning 13, or just documenting the skater-cute-meets-soft-aesthetic phase, teens actually LOVE being celebrated (even if they roll their eyes while doing it).

📸 Why it matters:
Let them express themselves, feel seen, and have something to look back on that’s 100% them.

Adults: Yes, You. Don’t Scroll Past.

You don’t have to be turning 21 or 40 to book a birthday shoot. If you’re here, breathing, growing, and learning how to love yourself in this season—you deserve photos.

Whether it’s glam, casual, silly, or champagne-popping fabulous: celebrating yourself is powerful.

📸 Why it matters:
You’re not too old, too tired, or too “meh.” You’re worth documenting. Period.

Milestone or Not, Let’s Celebrate the You Right Now

Don’t wait for a “big birthday.” Every year is a big deal. Every version of you (or your child) is worth remembering.

And if you’re the kind of person who always says, “Next year I’ll do a photoshoot…” consider this your very loving nudge:
book the session now.

5 Must-Have Photos Every Mom Should Take with Her Baby | Atlanta Newborn & Family Photographer

A Love Letter to the Moments You’ll Want to Remember

Motherhood changes everything—your heart, your rhythm, your definition of time. But the early days go by in a blur of midnight feedings and tiny stretches. That’s why having the right photos—ones that tell your story, not just document it—matters so deeply.

Whether you’re planning a newborn session, celebrating a first birthday, or simply soaking in the everyday magic, here are 5 must-have mom & baby photos you’ll cherish for years to come.

1. The First Snuggle

There’s something sacred about the way a new mom holds her baby—equal parts awe, exhaustion, and overflowing love. That very first embrace tells the story of your beginning together.

📸 Why it matters:
You’ll never be this new at motherhood again. This is the start of your forever.

2. The Feeding or Rocking Moment

Whether you’re breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or rocking baby to sleep—this is your quiet rhythm. It might feel ordinary now, but one day, it will feel like a dream you barely remember.

📸 Why it matters:
These everyday moments are the heartbeats of your bond. They deserve to be honored, too.

3. The Laugh or Look

That gummy grin. That moment when baby locks eyes with you like you’re their whole world (because you are). Whether you’re both laughing or simply gazing at each other, this connection is everything.

📸 Why it matters:
These are the moments when your love shows. Natural, unposed, and full of joy.

4. The Generational Shot

You holding your baby—with your mom, or your partner’s mom—creates a timeless connection across generations. Even if it’s just the two of you now, one day your child may become a parent, and they’ll treasure this link to their story.

📸 Why it matters:
It’s not just a photo—it’s heritage. A legacy of love passed down.

5. The Growth Milestone

From tiny toes to toddling steps—documenting your baby’s growth with you in the frame adds powerful perspective. Monthly photos or milestone shoots aren’t just for the baby book—they’re for your heart.

📸 Why it matters:
You’re growing too, mama. These photos capture both of your journeys.

Final Point: You Deserve to Be in the Frame

It’s easy for moms to stay behind the camera—taking pictures, not being in them. But your presence in these memories is a gift to your child and a reminder to yourself that you showed up, loved deeply, and lived fully in these fleeting days.

Don’t wait for the “perfect” time. Don’t worry about tired eyes or messy hair. Show up as you are. That’s the version your child will want to remember.

Snapping Memories: 5 Reasons Why You Absolutely Need a Mommy and Me Photoshoot

Mamas, Let’s talk about something that’s not on your to-do list but totally should be – booking a Mommy and Me photoshoot! I get it, life’s a marathon of snack times, playdates, and superhero cape mishaps. But trust me, taking a moment to freeze those precious mom and kiddo moments is totally worth it. Here are five reasons why you need to get that photoshoot on the calendar ASAP.

  1. Capture the Cute Chaos: Life with little ones is a wild ride filled with adorable chaos. From sticky fingers to impromptu dance parties, these are the moments that make your heart burst. A Mommy and Me photoshoot is like hitting pause on the chaos and turning it into frame-worthy memories. Who knew a mess could look this cute?
  2. Document the Growth Spurts: One minute they’re fitting into that onesie you swear they were just born in, and the next, they’re running around like mini Olympians. A Mommy and Me photoshoot is your secret weapon against the relentless march of time. It’s like creating a time capsule of cuteness to look back on when they’re towering over you (cue the tears).
  3. It’s Your Time to Shine: Moms, it’s not just about the kiddos. A photoshoot is your time to shine, too! Professional photographers have this magical way of making you feel like a million bucks. It’s like a mini confidence boost wrapped in soft lighting and genuine smiles. Who says you can’t slay in mom jeans?
  4. Create an Insta-Worthy Family Album: Sure, social media might be filled with cat videos and memes, but let’s give those feeds a serious upgrade with some heart-melting family photos. A Mommy and Me photoshoot gives you a reason to flood your Instagram with pics that will make even the grumpiest trolls crack a smile.
  5. Because Why Not? Life’s too short not to indulge in a little fun. Booking a Mommy and Me photoshoot is a chance to escape the chaos for a while, share some laughs, and make memories that’ll last a lifetime. Plus, who can resist twinning with your little one in front of the camera? It’s the ultimate bonding experience!

So, supermoms, toss aside the mom guilt and book that Mommy and Me photoshoot. Your fridge deserves more than just grocery lists, and your heart deserves a daily dose of those ear-to-ear grins. Trust me, you won’t regret it.

Sweet Surprises: The Best Baby Photo Gifts for Your Adoring Family

As a photographer who’s been lucky enough to capture the sweetest moments of your little ones, I know the joy that comes with freezing those heart-melting smiles forever. Now, let’s talk about turning those captured moments into the most cherished gifts for the amazing grandparents and family members in your life. Here’s my guide to the best baby photo gifts that will make everyone swoon!

  1. Accordion Books: Mini Masterpieces to Carry Everywhere

You know those magical moments that fit perfectly in the palm of your hand? That’s exactly what accordion books are all about. As a photographer, I love transforming these tiny treasures into mini masterpieces. They’re not just books; they’re a journey through your baby’s joy, a flipbook of cuteness that Grandma can carry everywhere she goes. Talk about spreading smiles on the go!

  1. Image Cubes: Playful Memories in 3D

Ever wanted to turn your baby’s charm into a 3D experience? Image cubes are the answer. These playful cubes are like mini exhibits of your little one’s adorable adventures. Each side tells a different story, and with a flick, you’re transported to another delightful moment. It’s like handing out tickets to a personal baby gallery – and who wouldn’t want a front-row seat?

  1. Ornaments/Keychains: Baby Love in Your Pocket

Picture this: Grandma’s fumbling for her keys, and suddenly, she’s met with a burst of baby giggles. That’s the magic of a personalized keychain. Our metal ornaments make the perfect decorations for the tree and the most darling keychains! I’ve seen the joy these pocket-sized keepsakes bring. Attach a darling baby pic, and you’ve gifted an everyday adventure that fits right in their hands (and pockets).

  1. Framed Prints: Timeless Charm, Modern Style

Framed prints are classics for a reason, but let’s add a modern twist. As a photographer, I adore choosing frames that complement the unique style of your family. Whether it’s a solo standout photo or a collage of baby bliss, framed prints are the perfect blend of timeless charm and contemporary coolness.

  1. Photo Albums: Storybooks of Baby Bliss

Now, let’s talk about the grand finale – the photo album. It’s not just an album; it’s a storybook of your baby’s first adventures. As a photographer, curating these albums is like crafting a visual masterpiece. Fill it with snapshots that tell the tale of your little one’s joyous journey, and you’ve gifted a keepsake that becomes a family treasure.

So, lovely moms, as a photographer who has witnessed the magic of these baby photo gifts, I can confidently say they’ll turn your precious moments into cherished memories for your adoring family. Whether it’s a mini accordion book, a rotating image cube, a keychain keepsake, a framed print, or a classic photo album, each one is a heartfelt reminder of the joy your little one brings.
