The 6 BEST Motherhood/Pregnancy movies EVER! – Atlanta, Georgia Maternity Photography Studio – Georgia Photographer – Phoenix Productions ATL

Whether you are pregnant, trying to conceive, or already a mom to amazing kids, These are movies that will remind you why you wanted to be a mom in the first place. For all of those nights when you lay in bed at night dreaming about the mother that you will become, or staying up until the wee hours of the morning with a crying baby; These are movies that will get you excited (and prepared) for the journey that awaits, and they will also encourage you to stay strong and remember the mom that you dreamed of becoming. Most of all, though, these are movies that will give you major Baby Fever!

What to Expect When You’re Expecting:
I absolutely love this movie! I have seen it so many times and it never fails to make me cry and awe and remember why I wanted to be a mom in the first place. This movie address pretty much all of the major pregnancy scenarios: accidental pregnancy, strongly desired pregnancy, twins, adoption, and even miscarriage. I was absolutely hooked! This is one that I would recommend buying rather than renting; because if you fall in love with it like I did then I’m sure you’ll be watching it way more than once. Inspired by the perennial bestseller, WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING is a hilarious and heartfelt comedy about five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood. The movie features lots of laughs, heart , and a terrific ensemble of actors at their best (Pete Hammond, Box Office Magazine) and is A must see! (Gayle King, O Magazine). The film stars Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chace Crawford, Brooklyn Decker, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock, Rodrigo Santoro, Ben Falcone and Joe Manganiello.

Knocked Up:
This movie is kind of silly – and there’s one really weird scene that you might need to fast forward past – but this movie is great for learning about pregnancy and what the journey really is like. Definitely a must see! The writer and director of The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Judd Apatow, delivers another hilarious hit comedy with Knocked Up! They say that opposites attract. Well, for slacker Ben (Seth Rogen) and career girl Alison (Katherine Heigl), that’s certainly the case – at least for one intoxicated evening. Two months and several pregnancy tests later, Ben and Alison go through a hysterically funny, anxious and heartwarming journey that leads to huge laughs in the most outrageous comedy of the year!

The Back-Up Plan:
I absolutely love this movie! In fact, this is the movie that introduced me to ‘Pregnancy Pillows’ (Click here to read my pregnancy pillow review, and click here to see which one I ended up purchasing.). Also, the plot and the character development was amazing! Jennifer Lopez stars as Zoe, a single New Yorker who dreams about meeting Mr. Right, having a baby and living happily ever after. But after a string of Mr. Wrongs, Zoe commits to her back-up plan: to take on motherhood alone. Zoe’s plan proves far from foolproof when moments after her procedure she’s swept up into a whirlwind romance with Stan (Alex O’Loughlin), the man of her dreams. Can Zoe hide her pregnancy until Stan is ready for the truth? Or will the truth send him packing? The Back-Up Plan is a hilarious romantic comedy about courtship, love, marriage and parenthood – but not necessarily in that order!

Life as we Know it:
Even though the main characters aren’t the actual parents, this movie portrays parenting in a wonderful way! Katherine Heigl has graduated from pregnancy (Knocked Up) to raising an actual baby, and she did quite a good job in this movie. Holly (Katherine Heigl) is an up-and-coming caterer and Messer (Josh Duhamel) is a promising network sports director. After a disastrous first date, all they have is common is their dislike for each other and their love for their goddaughter Sophie. But when they suddenly become all Sophie has in this world, Holly and Messer must set their differences aside. Judging career ambitions and competing social calendars, they’ll have to find common ground while living under the same roof. Josh Lucas, Christina Hendricks, Hayes MacArthur and Jean Smart co-star in this tart and tender romantic comedy directed by Greg Berlanti (TV’s Brothers & Sisters and Everwood).

Mom’s Night Out:
This movie is less about pregnancy, and more about being a mom. What I love about this movie, is that it shows that motherhood is not all that it’s cracked up to be, but it is truly a blessing. All Allyson and her friends want is a peaceful, grown-up evening of dinner and conversation… a long-needed moms’ night out. But in order to enjoy high heels, adult conversation and food not served in a paper bag, they need their husbands to watch the kids for three hours—what could go wrong?

Mothers and Daughters:
Another Mom-Movie (I’ll have to find some Dad ones later)! But, definitely a must see! Of course, this one made me cry. It was sweet and I really like the way they showed the different connections between mother and daughter and what it truly means to be a mom. I paired this with Mother’s Day and had a little movie marathon with hubby! Stars an all-star cast of Susan Sarandon, Sharon Stone, Courtney Cox, Christina Ricci and Selma Blair! The story is focused on a rock photographer (Blair) who is riding a career high when an unlikely and unexpected pregnancy forces her to turn her lens inward and see her relationship with her estranged mother with fresh eyes. Through a series of photographs documenting motherhood in all its varieties, she considers what it means to be maternal.

That’s about it for now! When I was pregnant I loved watching pregnancy and baby movies. And I know how the first and third trimesters can often leave you pretty much glued to the bed (which is why we like to schedule maternity sessions for late second trimester or early third trimester) so hopefully this list will help you find something interesting to watch while you’re nesting!

For someone who had never had professional pictures taken, McKinley was an absolute PRO during our session! Not only did she look gorgeous and glowing, but she also dressed big brother in a bow tie that matched her gown. Absolutely adorable!

We had so much fun capturing some of their last moments as a duo before they add another little guy to their family!

This little girl was so sweet! First of all, mama brought her swaddle blanket and it was absolutely adorable! We knew that mom and dad had sunflowers at their wedding so we just HAD to incorporate them into the session. And we LOVE it!

We had so much fun capturing some of this little sweetheart’s first moments!

Kailey was such a fun kiddo! She was a bit shy at first, but once we brought out the bubbles and singing and dancing we were able to coax that pretty smile out!
